SPSIM, the Swiss Conference on Standardized Patients and Simulation in Health Care, is a bi-annual event that is fast becoming one of the major conferences on simulation in Europe. It attracts a vast population of healthcare professionnals involved in simulation and education. It is a joint venture of the University of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland, the University of Health Sciences (HESAV)-Lausanne, the Bern University of Applied Sciences Health Section, the Berner Bildungszentrum Pflege and the Institute of Medical Education of the University of Bern.
Objectifs
The conference allows participants to
- Discuss scientific bases and best practice in health education using simulations;
- • Determine new European directions for learning, teaching and assessing with Standardized Patients and Simulators;
- Identify relationships between the use of Standardized Patients and Simulations in education and patient safety;
- Network with international colleagues.
Target audience
The target audience are all faculty and clinicians involved in health care education as well as medical doctors and allied health professionals interested in this new approach of training and assessment.
